Hello, it is a usb-c to usb-c for Thunderbolt 3 cable. It is two-sided line, it can be inserted either way round, two-sided line.
However the little USB-C to USB-A adapter is single-sided. The little USB-C to USB-A adapter (Type-C Female to USB 3.0 Type-A Male Converter) included with this cable is a single-sided charging and data transmission, only from USB-C to USB-A, because it is an adapter and not a cable.
NOTE: The little USB-C to USB-A adapter only supports single-sided 10Gbps high-speed transmission. Super fast data transfer via USB-C to USB-C port of up to 40 Gbps.
